Winter Rush Chair

Company

Chi Sigma Alpha

Overview

One of our key achievements was forming a partnership with high-rise apartments, which allowed us to reallocate our budget to other critical areas of the rush process. This strategic partnership not only provided us with excellent venues for events but also enabled us to enhance other aspects of the recruitment experience. We could invest more in decorations, refreshments, and promotional materials, creating a more welcoming and engaging atmosphere for potential new members.

Our remote collaboration and innovative budgeting strategies exemplified our dedication and resourcefulness, ultimately leading to a successful and memorable winter recruitment.

Task Accomplished

-Host recruitment workshop and photoshoot for the Active House of 32 sisters
-Managed and Coordinated 5 Recruitment Events - consisting of 2 mixer events with other Greek Organizations: Pi Alpha Phi + Lambda Theta Alpha
-Created checklists, itineraries, and sign-ups by utilizing Google Sheets and Forms
-Promoted the winter rush through on-campus tabling and social media @uwchisigs

Leadership Competencies Gained

Organization
A significant amount of organization was required to ensure that a room was booked, decorations were purchased, and a polished presentation was prepared for the event. We created different agendas for each day and established shifts for the sisters of the house to sign up for.

Vision
After being selected, I brainstormed themes and landed on "Year of the Koi." I helped bring this theme to life, ensuring a cohesive experience throughout the entire week at the event and on our social media platforms.

Lesson Learned

I have refined my attention to detail and strengthened our chapter's commitment to sharing love, support, and kindness with students at the university. Even during the offline winter break, I remained highly responsive, fully aware of the importance of sacrifice and dedication.

I had to be exceptionally diligent about meeting deadlines to ensure that everyone understood their roles and responsibilities, and to maintain synchronization within the chapter. Although it was stressful, being attention to detail allowed our events to run smoothly. Additionally, by seeking extra help with setup or inviting alumni to speak, I grew closer to my sisters. This collaboration not only strengthened our bonds but also enriched the event experience, showcasing the teamwork and community within our chapter. Through these efforts, we were able to create a more cohesive and supportive environment, reinforcing the chapter’s sense of unity and shared purpose.

I collaborated with two other rush chairs to meticulously plan our 2023 winter recruitment. Even during the winter break, we worked remotely to finalize all the details, ensuring that every aspect of the recruitment process was well-organized and thoroughly prepared.
